INTRODUCTION

Workplace ethics are rules and procedures that should be carried out to maintain a professional company culture.  A good ethical culture enables the formation of better and more trusting relationships with all the stakeholders by providing a better service, in both the public and private sectors.

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

To enable employees to understand and apply ethical standards to their own work roles and to identify breaches of ethical standards in the workplace.

BY THE END OF THIS WORKSHOP, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO :

  1. Explain the core ethical values and standards which apply to the workplace.

  2. Outline ethical values and standards contained in legislation and codes which have relevance to the conduct of employees.

  3. Describe areas of ethical conflict in the workplace .

  4. Explain the importance of ethical values and standards in relation to the public sector. 

INTRODUCTION

"Visionary leadership is widely seen as key to strategic change.  That’s because visionary leadership does not just set the strategic direction - it tells a story about why the change is worth pursuing and inspires people to embrace the change."  Visionary leadership, therefor, is not just important for senior managers, but also for middle and lower level managers who play a key role in carrying out strategic change.  The ability of mid and lower level managers to inspire their own teams and create strategic alignment (a shared understanding of, and commitment to, the company’s strategy) is essential to the successful execution of the strategy.

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

To explain the concept of leadership and create an understanding for what visionary leadership and strategy is.

  2. Differente between leadership and management.

  3. Analyse and compare leadership theories.

  4. Apply the different roles and qualities of leadership in a work context. 

  5. Explaining the purpose of visionary thinking in a leadership context

  6. Analyse current context and trends to develop strategy

  7. Compiling scenario plans

  8. Apply selected scenarios into strategic and business planning processes

  9. Evaluate scenario planning
