INTRODUCTION

Workplace ethics are rules and procedures that should be carried out to maintain a professional company culture.  A good ethical culture enables the formation of better and more trusting relationships with all the stakeholders by providing a better service, in both the public and private sectors.

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

To enable employees to understand and apply ethical standards to their own work roles and to identify breaches of ethical standards in the workplace.

BY THE END OF THIS WORKSHOP, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO :

  1. Explain the core ethical values and standards which apply to the workplace.

  2. Outline ethical values and standards contained in legislation and codes which have relevance to the conduct of employees.

  3. Describe areas of ethical conflict in the workplace .

  4. Explain the importance of ethical values and standards in relation to the public sector. 

INTRODUCTION

Certain characteristics are particularly important when it comes to starting and leading a venture.  Being an entrepreneur requires specific skills, and where certain abilities might be naturally present, others can be learned or developed through careful practice.  It is through understanding what qualities are needed to set one up for success, that entrepreneurs can grow to become better business leaders.

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

This course will highlight what personal characteristics an entrepreneur should aspire towards, which lead to the successful operation of a new venture. The course also introduces the student to the economic, administrative and behavioural (psycho-social) barriers that contribute to the success (or failure) in starting and sustaining an enterprise.
