INTRODUCTION

Workplace ethics are rules and procedures that should be carried out to maintain a professional company culture.  A good ethical culture enables the formation of better and more trusting relationships with all the stakeholders by providing a better service, in both the public and private sectors.

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

To enable employees to understand and apply ethical standards to their own work roles and to identify breaches of ethical standards in the workplace.

BY THE END OF THIS WORKSHOP, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO :

  1. Explain the core ethical values and standards which apply to the workplace.

  2. Outline ethical values and standards contained in legislation and codes which have relevance to the conduct of employees.

  3. Describe areas of ethical conflict in the workplace .

  4. Explain the importance of ethical values and standards in relation to the public sector. 

INTRODUCTION

Business plans are like road maps.  Whilst it is possible to travel without one, having one will increase the likelihood of you staying course, and not getting lost along the way.  It provides clarity on all aspects of your business, from marketing and finance to operations and product/service details, and help people stay focused and guide decisions.

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

This course has as its core the purpose to equip learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to produce business, financial and/or operations plans for implementing a new venture.  It will also address the economic and administrative issues that prevent the starting of a new venture and contribute to the inability of an entrepreneur to sustain a new venture

BY THE END OF THIS COURSE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO :

  1. Identify, gather and analyse the relevant information needed to compile a business plan.

  2. Formulate an ethical framework for the operational plans of a new venture.

  3. Establish and prioritise business, financial and/or operational goals and objectives for a new venture.

  4. Design and present business, financial and/or marketing plans based on a budget for a new venture. 

  5. The course will, amongst others, cover

    • Legal business types for new ventures.

    • Legislation applicable to the sector in which the new venture is situated.

    • Legal registrations include PAYE, VAT, UIF, RSC, COIDA, Skills Development Levy and Industry registrations.

    • Business, financial, marketing and/or operations plans.

    • Elements of a business plan.

    • Codes of ethics and conduct.
